Regional Scrum Gathering® Cape Town

1. Acceptance of Terms

  • By purchasing or using a ticket (“Ticket”) to attend a SUGSA event (“Event”), you acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Event Cancellation and Postponement

2.1 Cancellation by SUGSA

  • If SUGSA cancels an Event, all ticket fees will be refunded in full within 21 business days of the scheduled Event conclusion.
  • Refunds will be made using the original method of payment.

2.2 Postponement by SUGSA

  • If an Event is postponed, no refunds will be issued.
  • Attendees unable to attend on the rescheduled dates may:
    1. Nominate a replacement attendee at no additional charge, or
    2. Apply the ticket value to a future SUGSA Event.

2.3 Limitation of Liability for Cancellations

  • SUGSA shall not be liable for any indirect losses, travel expenses, or consequential damages arising from cancellation or postponement.

3. Attendee Cancellations

3.1 Substitutions

  • A replacement delegate may attend in your place at no extra charge, provided notice is given in writing to info@sugsa.org.za before the Event commences.

3.2 Refunds

  • Cancellations made 30+ days before the Event: 80% refund (20% administration fee applies).
  • Cancellations made less than 30 days before the Event: no refunds.
  • Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@sugsa.org.za.

3.3 Late Bookings

  • For bookings made within 7 days of the Event start date, full payment is due at the time of booking and is strictly non-refundable.

4. Ticket Usage

  • Each Ticket admits one person only. Ticket sharing is strictly prohibited.

5. Event Program, Format, and Content

  • While every effort is made to deliver the program as advertised, SUGSA reserves the right to make substitutions, changes in speakers, adjustments to content, or alterations to Event format and timing without notice.
  • In the event of program changes, documentation may be provided to delegates where possible, subject to speaker permissions.
  • SUGSA accepts no liability for any loss or inconvenience resulting from program changes, substitutions, or alterations.

6. Group Bookings and Discounts

  • Group discounts apply only if all delegates are from the same organisation, registered at the same time, and invoiced together in a single payment.
  • Discounts cannot be combined with other offers and are applied only to the full ticket price.

7. Payment Terms

  • Full payment is required either at the time of booking or within 7 days of invoice issue.
  • Admission to the Event will not be granted until payment is received in full, unless prior written arrangements are confirmed by SUGSA.
  • Bookings made within 7 days of the Event require immediate payment.

8. Privacy and Third-Party Contact

  • Attendee details are not shared or sold to partners, sponsors, or third parties.

9. Photography, Filming, and Recording

  • By attending, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded during the Event.
  • You grant SUGSA the right to use such media in global communications, publications, and broadcasts without further approval or compensation.

10. Limited Liability

  • Attendance is at your own risk.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, SUGSA disclaims liability for any loss, injury, or damage to persons or property at or around the venue.
  • Liability, if any, shall be limited strictly to the value of the purchased ticket.

11. Governing Law and Compliance

  • Attendees must comply with all applicable laws, health and safety regulations, venue rules, and reasonable instructions issued by SUGSA.
  • Failure to do so constitutes a breach of contract and may result in removal from the Event without refund.
  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by South African law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

12. Code of Conduct

  • SUGSA is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and harassment-free Event environment for all. Attendees and speakers must comply with SUGSA’s Code of Conduct: sugsa.org.za/about-us/code-of-conduct.
